With the aim of strengthening TB case finding, Team Biayon coordinated with the Municipal Health Office, Department of Health National Tuberculosis Program Region IX and Community-based Health Program-Ministry of Health (CBHP-MOH) Sergio Osmeña Chapter to conduct the "Orientation on the Enhanced Referral on the New National Tuberculosis Program-Manual of Procedure” Training for barangay health workers and CBHP-MOH Sergio Osmeña Chapter.

TB TASK FORCE

A Biayon TB Task Force was created to assist the CBHP-MOH Biayon Chapter and barangay health workers in the TB case finding. The task force is composed of 14 volunteer members represented by each purok. They are assign to conduct active and passive TB case finding, refer, and counsel to community residents.
2015 - 2017
UBOKABULARYO
The Ateneo de Zamboanga University- School of Medicine Team Biayon came up with the initiative of creating TB sputum kits to enhance the TB case finding within the barangay, as well as in the entire municipality. The kit was composed of a TB referral letter, an instructional paper on sputum collection which was translated into Visayan language and 2 sputum cups. The kits were distributed to barangay health workers and CBHP-MOP, eventually was adopted by the Rural Health Office.
